Thanks, that link does seem to work now.
I
in the meantime I just dug into natbib.sty I think I can eventually make my own
versions of "\cite" to implement a bill of materials list.
One thing that may be common to other authors using bibtex though, has anyone
had interest in specializing the links within a bibliography to identify the work
from which the link is found? That is, normally in a browser the http referer header
would be set. AFAICT there is no way to make a link in a pdf file set any request
header and there is no automatic way to make the browser add it. Is there
anyway? Alternatively, all the links can have appended a query string containing a
key-value pair to identify the work but that would require special server
side software as well as an easy way for the authoring or biblio software to make the
modification.
I've got c++ code now to handle the bibtex stuff and can probably modifiy the temp
files ( aux and bbl ) to make this work but given all the interest in tracking and crediting
on the internet I would think there would be some way to track citation sources :)
