[metapost] format.mp and mptopdf

Thanks a lot! So far I did

mpost file.mp
mptopdf file.mp

to compile my sources to pdf. Doing as you advise solves the problems
with format.mp.

I didn't find any, neither in my MiKTeX distribution nor when searching
CTAN and Google for mptopdf or metafun. Could you please give a pointer?
