[metapost] Using -recorder with -output-directory

Hi,
using MetaPost 1.005 (Web2C 7.5.7), if I run

mpost -recorder -output-directory ./mydir ./mydir/foo.mp

the file foo.fls is written into the current directory and not into 
./mydir. I consider this as a bug. Is it intended behaviour? Has it been 
fixed in recent releases?
