hm, not sure what you mean...
Do you have an example (file+ string) ?
As a general rule, mpost is a "command line" program, so you need to open a
shell /cmd and run a line like that
$> mpost myfile.mp
where in myfile.mp you put a "metapost program" , ie a set of metapost
macros.
