[tex-live] Is this a real PNG/pdfTeX error in TL2004? Or Mac OS Xonly?

hm, you're not telling that the latex users would have stuck to dvitex if 
protruding was not part of the game? lucky us then that that decision was made 
by sebastian and not 'the abstract cohort of tex users'

anyhow, indeed the interest in esp protruding is quite large

well, make it 4.5 percent of the texies and it already sounds better; i think 
that sebastian was refering to the xml world, where micro typography is not an 
issue at all -)
