[tex-live] Is tlmgr 2008 now completely unusable?

Then you have to upgrade to TL 2009 by doing a new installation.
This was announced several times that upgrades from 2008 to 2009 is
not possible and that there will be no updates to 2008.
Using tlmgr-update-latest from 2009 on 2008 is not a good idea, youo
probably messed up your installation.
We hope to provide an upgrade path from 2009 -> 2010, but don't hold
your breath, it might not be realizable.
