[tex-live] segfault on mac after using perl/tk from macports

To recap my TeX Live 2009 experience so far:

- MacTeX 2009 works great, thanks all.

When I get home...

- TeX Live 2009 (everything else) is what I'll try for Ubuntu 9.10 when I get home.
  I predict that will go without a hitch, even if it is an AMD64 system.

- The Windows 7 install is still in Limbo on my kids' machine.  ("Perl.exe has stopped working.")
  I tried the data execution permissions thing--no joy.
  I tried Strawberry Perl.  Windows 7 wouldn't run that either.  Just strange.  Maybe BitDefender antivirus?
