[texhax] including non .tex files in a LaTeX document

Even if this would work, you will be quite unhappy with the output.
Everything is treated as text.  All the line breaks are discarded and
all indentations are lost.

Though listings will certainly produce more pleasing output, if you
want everything in a typewriter font, you can use moreverb.sty which
provides a command \verbatimtabinput[tab width]{file name}.

The default value of the optional argument is 8.

However, I recommend to try listings as well.
