[texhax] \scalebox and resolution

So, if the printing company says it needs 300dpi for an image to print well
and I have a 72dpi JPEG that someone sent me, I cannot get the required
300 dpi just by being willing to have the image be one-quarter
of its original size and using \scalebox with a scale factor of .24???
