[texhax] home texmf dir not searched

Hi all,

I have found the latex installed on my Fedora Core 11 machine (TeXLive) 
somehow stopped searching my home texmf dir, (as default at ~/texmf as 
stated in the /usr/share/texmf/web2c/texmf.cnf file. It was working okay 
until recently and I have not modified the cnf file for some time.

Maybe a bug of an update --the system's kept updated? I'm using TeXLive. 
If anybody has the same problem and/or has a possible solution please 
advise.
