Or I can correct myself :-) Of course, the binary sets out
to address (and addresses very well) certain low-level aspects
of typography -- it provides, for example, a first-class
paragraph builder. So my earlier statement was far too
sweeping. Perhaps what I should have said is that it
leaves a great deal to the format, but provides an excellent
infrastructure on which formats can build. Chris Rowley
will now probably want to argue about whether the
infrastructure is "excellent", merely "adequate", or
"lacking in a great deal". All yours, Chris.
