The security restrictions will not disappear with AR X, and as I'm on the
beta release programme, I have been able to squash some bugs before it's
unleashed on an unsuspecting public. As regards to Okular catching up with
AR, I'm not too hopeful for two reasons: (i) AR is a moving target; (ii)
AR's interactive features are very hard to pin down and I have a number of
edge and corner cases which show that the PDF specification is incomplete.
Thus I'm afraid developers will be in for a torrid time dealing with
quirksmodes. But as I've been operating in Quirk mode all my life :-)
it will be business as usual.
Cheers,
James
