Thanks, Thomas.  I've used PSTricks a bit in the past.  Unfortunately, for
this project, I really need the fontspec package, and that limits me to
XeTeX and LuaTeX, both of which are PDF-based.

I've actually thought about use XeTeX for the text, some other PS-based TeX
for the graphics and images, and then trying to merge them later.  Ugh.
