I have to place the endnotes at the end of the book rather than at the end
of each chapter. Easily done, as is. In the default arrangement, all the
endnotes are grouped together wherever I write "*\theendnotes*."
What I need is the following, one further step.
First a heading, say "Notes to Chapter 1" (easily done with
*\renewcommand\notesname{Notes
to Chapter \thechapter}*)
then all the endnotes referenced by superscripts in the text of the chapter.
Then a heading that says, "Notes to Chapter 2"
then all the endnotes referenced by superscripts in the text of the chapter.
Obviously, resetting the endnote counter at the beginning of each chapter
with a *\setcounter{endnote}{0}* is a first step.
But what then.
Suggestions welcome.
