There is a tds.zip on ctan:

stix2-type1.tds.zip

You only need to unpack it in your texmf-local and then activate the
font map.

Besides this: why don't you use tlmgr to install the package?

Well it would much more readably if there weren't always lines like
-rw-rw-r--@  1 hros001  staff      
But it looks as if you didn't unpack the dtx.

there is no stix2 font, check the names of the tfm for valid font
names.
