fail to install texlive

I've added the texlive list to the recipients. The original post is

@Nur: Thank you for your message. I hope you're not discouraged and will
soon get help with your problem.

@texlive-dev: It seems to be that the undefined 'expand_tilde' is an error
in the TeXLive install script. What do you think?

@texlive-dev: Please consider further checks before installation for
obstructions to installation. Nur's experience of "conflicting [pdf]tex
program" surely could be issued prior to installation.
